Beginning January 1, 2026, we will be changing our rates here at Soma Massage Therapy.
I never come to these types of decisions lightly. I never got into the business of healing people because I wanted to get rich, and have always been intentional about wanting to make sure that massage was as accessible and as affordable to as many people as possible.
I am also aware that we recently adjusted our rates at the start of 2025. That was due to the fact that we hadn't adjusted our rates since 2022, and after many years of holding our prices steady, inflation just caught up to us. However, rather than adjusting to the full cost of inflation in 2025 and giving everyone sticker shock, I wanted to ease y'all into it, and split the difference: half in 2025, and the rest to be rolled out in 2026. Which brings us to this moment.
Unfortunately, as many of us know, the cost of everything continues to rise -- which is why I feel so conflicted about adjusting the rates here at Soma to match those pressures. The honest truth is that without adjusting our rates, we just won't be able to continue to operate and provide the community with care. And no one wants that!
Even with these new rates, when compared to other massage studios in the area, Soma is still the most cost-effective around: not only are our rates still at or below what many area studios and spas charge (especially when you factor in the tip expected at the other places), we still provide a FULL 60 minute hour massage and still maintain our no-tipping policy.
Some things are NOT changing. Here's what's staying the same:
- All upgrades (hot stones, cupping, reflexology, craniosacral, lymphatic, aromatherapy, etc) will remain the same rate.
- When you book an hour massage, you will still receive a full 60 minutes of hands-on time.
- We still offer our 3% cash discount at checkout
- We still do not -- and never will! -- accept tips. Massage therapists are healthcare workers and should be paid and treated as such. (After all, when was the last time you tipped your chiropractor or physical therapist?)
- Our no-tipping policy keeps our rates competitive with other competing massage studios, and when you factor in the FULL 60 minute sessions and affordable upgrades we offer here at Soma, our rates are still the best around!
Here's what's changing:
- All massages are changing in price. A 1-hour massage will now be $100 (compared to $90 in 2025). Please note that this is our cash discount rate.

- We are now offering varying discounts on our packages! The more you buy, the more you save! More info on our packages (6, 12, and 24 packs now available!) can be found here.
All unexpired gift certificates and 6 packs will still be honored at their full value in 2026. Beyond the expiration date, we will still honor your gift cards and packages at their dollar (not time) value, so an additional fee may be charged to make up the difference in price.

I'd pay them a million bucks if I could, but then you probably couldn't afford to come here anymore. So $100/hour seemed like a good compromise 🙂
