Do You Really Need A Business Plan (Part Two)

What happens when your business grows beyond the point where you can do everything yourself?

That’s something I’ve learned firsthand after nearly 20 years of building Soma Massage Therapy.

I started Soma without a business plan, a roadmap, or a clear idea of what I was doing. I figured it out as I went. But eventually, “figuring it out” had to evolve into building systems, developing people, delegating, and learning how to step away without everything falling apart.

That’s what we got into in Part 2 of my conversation with Leslie Boyce and several other entrepreneurs on The Fitness of Business.

I shared some of the lessons I’ve learned the hard way—especially around letting go of control, creating systems that actually support you, and recognizing that the goal of building a successful business shouldn’t be to create a job that consumes your entire life.

Because here’s the thing: No one becomes an entrepreneur just to work all the time.

Sometimes success looks like having the systems and people in place that allow you to… get horizontal. 😂

We talked about:
• Scaling without doing everything yourself
• Delegating (and actually letting people do the job)
• Building systems that give you back your time
• Knowing when to invest in technology or outside expertise
• Creating a business that supports your life—not the other way around
• And why having more freedom is one of the best reasons to build a business in the first place

And if “more freedom” sounds pretty good to you…

That’s one of the things I love about the Soma Massage Therapy franchise opportunity.

I spent nearly 20 years learning how to build, operate, systematize, and grow this business—often by making mistakes and figuring things out the hard way. As a franchisee, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

You get the benefit of the systems, training, support, and experience we’ve built along the way, giving you a head start that I definitely didn’t have when I opened my first location.

And the goal isn’t to give you more work. It’s to help you build a business that can eventually give you more control over your time and more opportunities to get horizontal. 😉

If you’re interested in owning a massage therapy business—and you’d like to have an experienced team in your corner instead of figuring everything out alone—let’s talk.
